Amazing that someone pitched an agent who then looked at their blog and noticed the writer said their story wasn't ready. WHOA. But I suppose the argument could be made that even if the agent had requested the work, the agent would have figured out it wasn't ready on their own, right? <br /><br />I do understand that writer-blogs have to talk about how hard the craft is, and I think what that editor was trying to say is that she didn't want to work with a whiny writer, someone who complained repeatedly. I don't think talking about the difficulty of the craft every once in a while is a deal-breaker. <br /><br />But writing bad things about your own work repeatedly, or complaining how another editor or agent didn't like your work...well, I don't think I'd want to work with that writer, either. Especially if they made it common practice to yell "unfair!" on a weekly basis.<br /><br />Glass half full, always.
