This Post is Cancelled (AGAIN!)

Okay, it's another one of those weeks where I keep writing a post. And then deleting it. Then writing another. And deleting it. Does anyone else do this?

I write something and then I feel that it just isn't entertaining enough. It's too serious. Too unfunny. I guess everyone has their fears. Fear that people will perceive them as overweight. Or as unintelligent. Mine is that people will think I am BORNG.

What adjective are you afraid of?

You know what I'm always terrified of? Taking myself too seriously. I think you can get away with just about anything as long as you're willing to laugh at yourself.

For the record, we never think you're boring, Corey! Of course you should probably take that with a grain of salt because we posted 20 random questions about Joe Jonas yesterday. Clearly our standards aren't that high...

I do it all the time. I'm afraid of the adjective lousy - lousy blog, lousy writer, lousy whatever. :-)

I think I'm afraid of "bad" - bad writer, to be exact!!! (am I only allowed to name ONE adjective I'm afraid of? There are oh so many more....)Thanks for your honest post!

I'm afraid of being too "weird." I like being weird, but there's this line I'm afraid of crossing where readers will scratch their heads and say "huh?" and totally not get what I'm talking about. Then they'll all stop following me. And I'll cry.

Aw! MG, I'll never unfollow you :)

Dude, this happens to me five days a week. And the posts I'm most worried about? Usually the ones I get the most comments on. So yeah. Go for it!

I love your blog :)

I have tons of fears when I blog, the first being that I wasn't smart enough to have a coherent blog. Which is why I named it Random Acts of Writing. LOL That way you could be warned I'm a little random. :) But I also worry about not being entertaining enough. ALL THE TIME.

You could never be boring! Even this post is entertaining. :) I'm afraid that people will think I'm boring too.

My feared adjective this week is "untalented." Or maybe it's "delusional." LOL!

I'm not one of those people to hold back, so I just put it all out there. For better or for worse . . .

"Annoying" "Whiny" "Egotistical"

Yeah, I worry. ;) But then I try to remember what my blog is all about. Me. Kidding! It's about getting others to connect with me and the things I care about. So usually when I think of it that way, writing posts becomes a lot less stressful.

Have fun with it!

Boring isn't a word that I think of when it comes to you! But I understand the fear. I think we all wonder sometimes if the intent of our words will come through online

You have an inherent humor! Don't worry about that at all.

I'm afraid of fear. It traps and robs you of believing that you can accomplish your dreams. Not. Happening.

Oh I def do this. I've got about 4 drafts that I haven't posted because they just don't seem "right" yet. I wouldn't worry too much though, I always enjoy your posts :)

I so get this!! I have a heap of drafts that never get posted because I look at them and think what a pile of rubbish they are. Glad you do too. And look how many people think the same!! xx (fear is such a bugger... just do it anyway, because you're awesome! )

Fear is the only thing we should really be afraid of :)

Maybe you're blocked because that last post was so darn wonderful. I'm going to try voting with my heart, not my head, for Lent. Even though I don't observe Lent.

I do the same thing...tee hee!

Hey, great post!!!

I worry about being boring too--or going completely off topic.

You never need to worry about the "b" word!

I'm with Melissa. I worry that people will find my blog delusional. "She dreams of being PUBLISHED?"

I'm definately afraid of Boring too! And, I'm having similar problems except I write the blog in my head and decide it's uninteresting before I even make it to the computer! Mdaybe it's just the winter smothering our creativity?!

Depending on my mood, the adjective crazy. I'm not a fan when people use it in the "she needs medication and a little white room" way.

Yes! One of the best pieces of advice that I ever received is that you never say anything too serious after 10p.m. I've deleted more posts that I've written late at night where I've spilled my guts all over the laptop. Thank goodness for that delete key. That being said, I've NEVER thought your posts are boring. Everytime I think about your daughter informing her Kindergarten class about Santa Claus, I laugh out loud.
