Corey, this is ABsolutely adorable! It really made me smile (which, when you've had the flu all week, is a monumentous feat!). And you made me more aware of picture books I WASn't aware of :) Yay!
You know, I was just looking at a list of the Oscar categories and there are a couple that may lend to this: "Best Documentary" could work for something with non-fiction maybe?; "Best Costume Design" maybe for outfits (I think "Fancy Nancy" or "Olivia" types?); "Best Art Direction" could be for illustration overall maybe?; "Best Visual Effects" could maybe be for very unique illustration effects?
Anyway, I think Christie Wright Wild is right...this should become a "thing" :) And I'm not into awards, generally speaking, but since this isn't "official," I think it would be fun :) I bet you'd end up with TONS of hits on your blog!
