My Fear Tank is Full.

Everyone is blogging about fear these days and I am jumping on the bandwagon.

I recently had this conversation with my husband...

ME: Honey, terrible news! I told Kendra my idea for Goldi Rocks and she LOVED it.

POOR BEFUDDLED HUBBY: Uh, sounds like great news to me!

ME: No, I feel sick. I think I am going to throw up.

HIM: Sweetie, this is what you want! You have a terrific idea and your agent is excited about it! Everything is going great. You should be ecstatic!

ME: It's horrible. I never should have shown her the outline. Now she is going to be so disappointed when the execution doesn't live up to her expectations. Why didn't I just wait till I had a draft to show her?

I am totally terrified. I need to remind myself to follow Jordan and vote with my hope!

Try to think positive. If she has faith in you, I'm sure it will be awesome! :)

*hugs* Sometimes fear of success is heavier than fear of failure.

I love you even more now. I TOTALLY get this. But...you are going to knock it out of the park. No doubts here.

I hear that putting words onto paper is the best way to empty the dreaded tank o' fear. Top of the evening to you!

You can do it. Let the fear motivate you, not hold you back.

Of all the fear titles, yours is the one that grabbed me the most.

Oh that feeling of having a glimpse of something marvelous and then being charged to produce it....it feels exactly like wanting to throw up.

Good thing you have that wise little person who can replace your fear tank with a hope tank.

FWIW: Goldi Rocks sounds very cool

I blogged about fear too.

It's so hard to execute those really great ideas, isn't it? I'm afraid I'll never be able to capture a particular one of mine.

Okay, you just earned yourself a Dude (and you know I'm not supposed to "Dude" anymore).

Dude, you can totally do this! Heck, you've already got it outlined...meaning that you have cohesive PLOT! Now all that's left is the voice, the language and, my friend, THIS IS WHAT YOU DO! You are a language player-rhymer-tinkerer.

this is your cupcake, dude.

Shelley

P.S. Don't make me bring out the Dude again.

No! It's going to be fabulous. Stop doubting yourself. Just breathe. :)

You will write it. It will rock! Kendra will love it (or she'll tell you why she doesn't) and then she will sell it. You will go on to make millions and...whoa, got a little carried away there at the end. :)

Go! Write!

Oh, I so feel this! But I think you're going to rock this out of da house! Just like Goldi. And my daughter would love this book, because she makes me tell her Goldilocks every single night. Seriously.

The worst that could happen is she asks you to revise. Good luck.

Fear, schmear. You'll succeed, you already have a few times.

Corey, it IS a great idea and I see nothing wrong with showing her what you've done so far. It's coming along great!

I soooo feel it!!! I think this is a common fear, but you are such an amazing writer and you've got SUCH incredible ideas. Yeah. Vote with your hope--everything else will fall into place.
