My Mojo is Gone

I don't know what happened to my blogging mojo, but somehow I lost it. It's gone.

I've looked for it under the huge stacks of paper on my desk and in the dusty archives of my computer files, but it is nowhere to be found.

What do I do? Do I just wait for it to turn up one day while I am folding laundry? Do I force myself to blog without it?

The good news is... my writing mojo is still here. Goldi gave me a Great Big Headache, so I am working on something new with Becky. Kendra's biggest complaint about our stories is that the "characters don't pop" so this time we started with a character and developed the plot around him.

We're still in the honeymoon phase where we are enamored with it. Just thinking about this story puts a goofy smile on my face.

Maybe I am just one of those people who can't focus on more than one thing at a time? In any case, I hope you won't all ditch me if I am not around as much as I used to be!

No worries! I think I'm one of those people who can only focus on one thing at a time too. When I'm writing a lot my blog always suffers.

I hear you. And I think I am at that very same place. Except I am not currently enamored with a new idea.

Ah, I feel the same....no blogging mo jo going on in my brain! It's sat empty for over a week or two. Ugh. Maybe this weekend? Will I have free time? Will I have something to write about? Only time will tell...

Yeah...mo jo is missing from my writing and blogging life. I'm faking it. Fake it til you make it can sometimes be a great motto. SOMETIMES

Sometimes the mojo wanders back, though... that's the good news. Plus, as long as the writing mojo hasn't split, you aren't too bad off. :)

Perhaps your blogging mojo has run off with mine. I've struggled for weeks trying to get back the love.

Still, the real writing is going swimmingly (the one that pays), so I'm not complaining too much. Glad yours is doing well too. the honeymoon phase is awesome!

I know EXACTLY how you feel.

For over a year, I blogged steadily three to four times a week. I think some of you started blogging around the same time I did (Nov 08?) Maybe that's how long it takes for burn out to set in?

Good luck with your writing, whether it be your stories or your blog. :)

Huh? This post was great. You've got more mojo than you think.

But yay!!! for writing mojo. That's the best kind.

Maybe your mojo has just gone on vacation. ;-)

Actually, I think writing about lack of mojo is a great step toward getting it back.

I know it's hard to focus on blogging when I'm writing. I can get a post up but I have a hard time reading everybody else's posts and then I feel guilty. Silly, huh?

Personally, I'd MUCH rather lose my blog mojo than my book mojo. I'm jealous of your big new idea. Can't wait to hear details!

Writing comes first :) You're doing just fine.

Corey, sounds like you blogging mojo has just gone on vacation. As long as your writing mojo is still hanging around and going strong, that's what matters most. You've got a great blog and I'll still stop by to check for any new posts when your mojo decides to come back.

Happy writing!

Mojo shmoJo! Cut yourself some slack.

Whaddaya expect being a mom (of those two things) and a children's book writer, and a wife and all the other things you are.

Love you.

Don't worry about your mojo and blogging, any writing a mom does is good writing. If in a funk, just blame it on the weather, it works for me!

So Corey ... you're a diver?!? Me too. But the last time I did a real dive was years ago when we lived on Guam. I've realized I'm a divei-snob now and just can't bring myself to dive in less than AMAZING conditions!

Where do you dive?

Corey, sometimes a blog can take up a lot of your writing time and focus. For me today, it's a welcome distraction....my muse is a bit tired of rejections...even if they are the lovely personal kind...

No way! It's always a treat to visit your blog. The month of May is busier for us than December. Add school and yardwork to the mix and it's chaos. I completely relate.

I've got spring fever. No writing OR blog mojo!!!

At least you've got the one that's most important. And, I'm so excited about your newest endeavor!!

I've lost the blogging mojo more times than I care to admit. Then it will show up one day and I'll turn out a post every day of the week. If you wait, it will come. Or so they tell me. :D Good luck!

Nah, it comes and goes. We all feel that way from time to time. And, we are primarily writers so that needs to take priority.

glad you are having fun with this new character approach. good luck!

Do what you need to do! Spend your best writing mojo on your stories! That's where the real satisfaction lies. Looking forward to hearing more whenever you return!
