I recognized that Tess was a genius a long time ago, but I was reminded of her brilliance when I read her recent post The Quitting Place. I've been on that couch and god, is it comfortable!
I was on it just this past week. It would have been so easy to stay there. But I picked up the phone and I called my agent. It was incredibly UNCOMFORTABLE. My heart raced. I broke into a sweat. I stuttered and stammered. But I did it. And I'm so glad I did.

ha! genius? well...my family would seriously beg to differ ;) So so glad you made that call, Corey. It is doing the hard things that will get us to where we deserve to be -- passivity is incredibly seductive!
You are so smart. AND far braver than I. :-)
Three cheers for bravery, Corey!
Thanks for leading the way up the path!

I am so glad you are feeling better about things!

I've known Tess was brilliant since July of 2008! She's an amazing writer along with being a wonderful person. :)
WTG, Corey on calling your agent. I'm guessing you discussed your wip?
Thanks, Corey and Tess. I needed that nudge. It's always best to take control and act. Bravo courageous Corey!
Okay. I am so off to read Tess's post. (Or is it Tess'? - those gosh darn apostrophes...)
Hope you were able to find some peace of mind.
I'm glad you were brave! I'm going to read her post too now, thanks!
Good for you! I hope it went well.
YAY, Corey! Glad you did it.
Wow...good for you! I imagine I would have been far beyond "uncomfortable!" I also loved The Quitting Place--so appropriate for so many moments in our lives.

ummm....did you quit....your agent? Am I reading this correctly? WOW, girl!
Oh my gosh, no. Sorry, if that post was totally unclear. Inaction is the easy thing to do. Calling her and working through the conflict was tough. But I did it and I feel so much better now.
