Success

We all know the road to publication can be rough.  Long and winding.  Bumpy and bouncy.   Puddly and potholed.  I have hit roadblock after roadblock this year, and to be honest... I have been very down about it.

But I saw this graphic on Facebook today and it made me feel a little better:

It's all about managing expectations.

Publishing is definitely a roller coaster. There are lots of ups and downs and really long stretches where it feels like you're not moving at all. All you can do is hold on and try to keep your head up and your hands raised. It's all part of the process of being a writer or an illustrator.

I love that, Corey. In writing and life in general!

Now everything makes sense! I must be on the right track cause my line is pretty twisted up too. :)

Ha! That's a great graphic. It's perfect. I'm so sorry you've been so down about things this year, Corey. It's all a matter of perspective, right? I look at you, with one book already published and two coming out in the next few years, and I say, wow, she's successful!

Love that graphic! I sure know how that feels to be knotted up and spinning round. Sorry your road's been bumpy.

Okay, my word verification is "snotedge" if that doesn't belong in a kid's book I don't know what does. ;)

Yup. I feel like I'm in that tangled mess most of the time. We just have to keep at it and put our best stuff out there and hope for good.

P.S. Maybe this upcoming PiBoIdMo will be the start of another welcomed sale.
