I Need a Vacation from Myself

I'd like to be someone else for a few days. I am sick of me.

Last night, I dreamed that a publisher made me an offer. I was so excited! But then, when I read the contract closely, I realized that they were not offering to publish my book. They wanted to produce a new cheese with my title and character for branding. Yes, cheese. (It makes a tiny bit more sense in the dream, because in that world my main character was a mouse.) They said that if the cheese sold really well, they would consider printing the story as a companion book. Reverse merchandising. I was so torn... say "yes" in the hopes that the cheese led to a book. Or say "no" and risk that no one else would show interest.

Waking up didn't even make me feel better. I'm still stuck with myself.

Since my plots are often full of a holes cheddar cheese might make the perfect media for my writing.

What a funny dream! Being yourself is better than being, say, a mouse...

Very funny.
Sign the "cheese" deal.
Hope to get the promotional book.
And, then maybe a movie.
Yippee!!!!!!!!!

Love,
Dad

Hey now, being you seems pretty cool. And like Sherrie wrote, it's better than being a mouse! ; )

If a cheese was named after me, I cannot tell you how jazzed I would be.

However, I am sure this dream must mean something.....perhaps you are about to talk to a Big Cheese in the publishing world....perhaps mouse = Corey and cheese = publishing contract....or maybe the main character's name is Velveeta, which is not really a cheese, but a cheese food product and they want you to write a story using that as a character name, and are willing to pay you lots of dough. Wouldn't that be grate (get it, grate??)

Yep...I'm totally fried. Friday afternoon could not come soon enough. (Maybe that's why they call it Fri-day)

Sorry for rambling all over your blog. Feel free to pay me back any time....

What a cheesy dream! ;) Actually, I think it shows creative thinking on your part and could be a funny picture book about a mouse who is the spokesperson/mascot/icon/logo for a cheese factory.

I would have a hard time passing up a contract which involved cheese. Especially if the "author" of that cheese received a free lifetime supply.

That's one crazy dream! But as the wife of a dairy farmer, it makes perfect sense. :)

We are SO there. At this point if someone was willing to slap our names on a cheese label, declare us published authors and could make it happen without any additional waiting around and obsessive e-mail refreshing the only question I'd have is: WHERE DO WE SIGN?

Wow, that certainly is an interesting dream.

I don't mean to laugh at your predicament, but that dream really made me laugh. I think it's a good sign, too.
