Friday Five

1) I think it's safe to say I've gotten my groove back. Five posts in five days. (Now if I can only catch up on laundry!)

2) I've been reading a lot of excellent posts lately. I usually tweet when I see one I want to share, but I'd like to link to Karen's Climbing the Writer's Staircase, for those of you who are non-tweeters. It is so lovely.

3) I have come to the realization that I need a sister. (How can anyone who reads Lisa and Laura's blog not have sister-envy.)

4) I am long overdue for a contest. In fact, I have been blogging since November and I have NEVER had one! I am going to have to put on my contest thinking cap and come up with something good.

5) I'm having dinner Tuesday night with agent extraordinaire, Stephen Barbara! Not just the two of us, but still... now I just have to hope I don't choke like I did at lunch with Editor X in June (That's figuratively, not literally. No Heimlich was needed)

What's new with you this week?

I'm going to a children's book conference in Portland. Pretty excited.

Thanks for the great links. Great to have you back in full swing!

Yeah, Lisa and Laura don't even know how good they have it. I have a sister...a good one, too - but she refuses to be my idea whore. oh, well.

Dinner with an agent??? How very, very cool is that!?!

Ha! My brother refuses too!

Thanks for the shout out Corey! You totally made our day.

And dinner with Stephen Barbara!?! We want details! We've seen his pictures and secretly think he's pretty dreamy. And he sent us the nicest rejection we've ever received!

You should get him to do a little mini-interview for the blog!

Wow, now I'm bossing you around. Laura is going to kill me. See, this is the downfall of writing with sisters...we tend to get majorly bossy.

Yeah, I think I actually have a bit of a crush on him, which is pathetic because I am practically old enough to be his mother!

Aww you're so sweet. Thanks for the link. Don't choke! Just treat them like a normal person and you'll be fine.

Yeah, I have the sister-envy too. That Lisa and Laura, they are fantastic.

Have fun at your dinner! :)

Hope you have a great dinner, by the way, always talking about myself. Geesh.

Pretty cool to have dinner with an agent and hopefully pick their brain a little. Or you could try the beautiful aloof writer thing, I could never pull of the beautiful part, but I can always live vicariously through you. Dinner with him? NO, he gets to have dinner with YOU!

Hi Corey!

Love your blog and thanks so much for stopping by mine! Yes, I'd love to have a sister, too, but I only have a brother. Have fun at the dinner with Stephen Barbara. And thanks for the links . . . now I've got to get back into the swing of things! :)

P.S. I see you're in Warren . . . I'm in Teaneck and guess what? I applied for the Rutgers conference at the last minute, too! Hope we both get in! (I went last year & it was an awesome experience!)

Thanks for the awesome links! I'm looking forward to your contest. Your blog is always an eye-opener and interesting one for me, so I imagine your contest will be great too!

Crystal, definitely let me know if you're going!

BJW, you're so sweet. Cant wait to see who is getting dubbed today.

Yat-Yee, Stephen Barbara got back to me once in like ten seconds!

Elana, maybe we can pretend we're sisters and write something together?
